CyanogenMod 11 with Double Tap To Wake on Nexus 4

After reviewing the Rastakat Rom in this article, today we return to our interest in the Nexus 4 and another fantastic Roma released a few days ago: the CyanogenMod 11 Snapshot M6.

With this release, the Cyanogen team dusts off the qualities that have characterized it on the Android scene, put to the test by the bugs of the previous version.

Installation Cyanogenmod 11 Nexus 4

To install the CM11 on the Nexus 4 you must first install one custom recovery (CWM recommended) if you have not yet done so read this article which will show you how to do it.

This guide will also install the Hells Core kernel which implements a complete performance management and double tap to wake.

After installing the kernel the result obtained from the Antutu benchmark is 21006 against the 20140 obtained with the stock kernel.

  • Download the CM11 for Nexus 4 (choose the version with code name mako) | Link Download
  • Download the Gapps (choose CM11 version) | Link Download
  • Kernel Hells Core (b46 version t4) | Download in English

Transfer the files to the internal memory (for example in the Downloads folder) and restart in recovery (with the TWRP recovery some incompatibilities have been declared so use the CWM).

Now perform a complete system Wipe:

  • Wipe Data / Factory reset
  • Wipe Cache
  • Advanced â € “> Wipe Davik Cache
  • Mounts & Storage -> Format / system [optional] (this will delete Android, so make sure you have the files of a Rom ready to flash, otherwise the phone will not start because without an operating system.)

Finally install the Rome, gapps e Kernel selecting them in succession with the â € œ optionInstall zip from / sdcard”From the CWM and waiting from time to time for their installation to end.

Select now "Reboot System Now"And wait for the first start of the CM11.

Enable Double Tap To Wake on Nexus 4

Il double tap to wake is the function that allows you to wake up the phone with a double tap on the screen (off) without the pressure of any physical key, a very useful feature on the Nexus 4 to not overuse the power button.
