A few days ago I was wondering if it was possible automatically set photos of WhatsApp profiles in contacts in Android phonebook and the answer was about positive. That is, yes, it is possible to do it (and we will see how soon), but not with all contacts; in this case our intervention may be required. And this is due to a limit di WhatsApp, or rather a matter of privacy, but probably also not to take up much space in the memory of our phone.
Why can't I automatically set the WhatsApp profile photo for all my contacts in the phonebook?
Before seeing how to set the photos of WhatsApp contacts in the address book, let's try for a moment to understand why it is not possible - right away - to set automatically the photo for all the contacts. WhatsApp, every time we view the photo of one of our contacts in chat, it goes to save the photo on our device, exactly in the folder / WhatsApp / Profile Pictures; most likely there will be contacts with whom we absolutely do not interact, it goes without saying that we do not go and check the photos of these contacts and consequently WhatsApp will not download these photos on our smartphone!
If you are gods profile stalker and look at photos and statuses of all your WhatsApp contacts, then there will be no problem, you will have all the photos already available on your Android smartphone; if instead you are not, but you want at all costs to associate the photos of each WhatsApp contact with your contacts in the address book, then you should definitely improvise as a stalker and take a peek at all the WhatsApp profile photos. 😀
All this it is necessary because an application exists totally free, But especially Italian, which goes to look for the photos of WhatsApp profiles on our phone and then associate them automatically to the relevant contacts in the phonebook! The application is called Photo Contact and all you have to do is install it on your device using the following badge.
How to associate profile photos of WhatsApp contacts in the address book
Once installed and started, a small illustrated guide will show us how to use it e how to get and set WhatsApp profile photos in the address book, but you immediately understand how simple it is to use it. In fact, once the quick guide is finished, on the phone screen we will notice all the contacts we chat with most often, complete with WhatsApp profile photos, including groups. All contacts, on the right, will have a check mark, which implies that the contact is selected, while at the bottom we will notice a round button with a number indicating how many contacts have been selected. After selecting / deselecting the contacts to be imported into the address book, just press this key and all the selected profile photos will be automatically assigned to the corresponding contacts in the address book! Then you will find the WhatsApp profile photos both in the address book and in the call log. 😉
As explained above, if the photo of a desired contact is not found within the application, just go to WhatsApp, then start the chat and open the photo, waiting for it to be fully charged, then go to the app again Photo Contact and update using the appropriate button at the top. The same procedure must be adopted when our contacts update their profile pictures on WhatsApp. But in the latter case it is not necessary to check WhatsApp, in fact through the update button, all the photos previously viewed will update automatically, so just set them with the button below!
Finally, Contact Photo also has other interesting features: in fact, under each contact we find various buttons that allow you to start the chat, visit the profile, save the photo in the gallery or share it and get information on dimensions and more. Finally, the app is also equipped with a call card HISTORY, where they will come save all profile photos of WhatsApp as they are updated. We can then set the oldest WhatsApp photos for contacts in the address book or delete them.
