Perhaps not everyone knows that it is possible to manage the connection of each individual application, or choose whether it can use WiFi, data, both or none. Useful if we don't want to waste data with certain apps or if we want some apps to not completely access the internet.
The setting is a bit difficult to find, since it is not found in the general settings, but in the MIUI monitor. Then we start the Monitor, which helps us to check the available and consumed data traffic. Now let's move on to Statistics, where we can monitor the consumed traffic of every single app and press the icon at the bottom "Manage app connections". Now we are in front of all the apps installed on our smartphone and on the right of each one we see if they are allowed to use data and / or WiFi. If the icon is green the app can use the connection, if it is red no. Finally, by clicking on the icon at the bottom "Default settings for new applications" we can choose whether the apps installed in the future will use data or WiFi.
The monitor can also be accessed from the notification area in the status bar by tapping the consumption notification.
