A few days ago we told you about the interesting news that had come out as regards the new Redmi Y3 which is about to arrive on the market in the near future. The device, according to some rumors, could arrive on the market with another name, in fact it could be released in some countries under the name of Redmi 7 Pro.
Redmi Y3 will be released in some countries under the name Redmi 7 Pro
The news was launched by colleagues from XDA-Developers who showed how the two devices have pretty much the same codename. The model number of Redmi Y3in fact it is M1810F6G and its codename is "onc_global". The already released redmi 7, instead, it presents more numbers of models: the M1810F6LG for the global version, M1810F6LI for the Indian version and another global version with model M1810F6L. From model names you can see how all model numbers share the first 7 characters.
Furthermore, both devices also have very similar codenames: “onclite","onclite_india"And"onclite_global_b"Which are very similar, in the initial part, to the codename of Redmi Y3 that we repeat to be "onc_global". Now, the fact that the model "onclite" and the redmi 7 in a global version leads us to think that the model "onc_global"Is the redmi 7 but in a more powerful version (for this without the "quarrel"). And therefore we will have a name change in some markets from Y3 a Redmi 7 Pro. Probably in the global market.
Finally, the theory is supported by further precedents in which the Xiaomi has become the protagonist of device name change based on the market in which they are sold. A very recent example is that of the Redmi 6 Pro which was sold outside the China as the Mi A2 Lite.
