XiaomiAs we know, every year it releases various smartphone models and thanks to its excellent quality / price ratio it has become a world-leading company. This time, however, the company has outdone itself, patenting a smartphone with a solar panel on the back, which provides the device with a complete 360 ° battery, so that it can charge the device with solar energy.
In July 2018, Xiaomi Mobile Software of Beijing has filed a patent at theWIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) concerning the design of a smartphone with a solar cell module. As we can see from the rendering below, the smartphone will be full screen without notch, it is not clear yet where the selfie camera is positioned, some voices state that it could also be located below the display, as Xiaomi had shown this technology in a short demonstration video.
As for the back, instead, we have a camera placed vertically with the LED flash in the center, similar to Xiaomi Mi 8. There is no digital fingerprint reader, which will probably also be placed below the display. The thing that stands out the most is obviously the solar panel placed right under the camera and covering the entire lower part of the rear bodywork, and will serve precisely to recharge the smartphone with sunlight.
Obviously it is only a design studied and patented by Xiaomi and there is no information regarding the release of the same, but if they ever consider selling a smartphone with a solar panel charge, it would be a great leap forward for the Chinese company.
